    1. Over the years we had passed (quickly) through Sacramento a number of times. Our thinking was that it was far too hot for normal human habitation. About twenty-five years ago my daughter was living here and having difficulty with her pregnancy. We came for a short visit and one thing let to another. All her kids are grown now and she left Sacramento long long ago for greener (actually snowier) pastures, leaving us here. With air conditioning and Sacramento’s convenient location at a crossroads: Interstates 5 and 80, we found ourselves settled in and so far, here we are. Frankly I’d rather live in Paris but it’s so far away from all our friends and relatives…and expensive too.

    2. Sacramento is where I presently live, so it’s easier to use this area. Aside from that I don’t even know why I’m here. It’s too hot most of the time, but moving is a real hassle.
